Andhra Pradesh Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar announced on Tuesday that smart ration cards will distribute in the state from August 25 to 31. The cards issued free of cost during official events led by using CM, Deputy Chief Minister, ministers, and MLAs of their respective constituencies.
According to the minister, over 1.4 crore smart ration cards organized to replace the existing ration cards, that now digitised. The creation of smart cards is a part of a state attempt to modernise the public distribution system and improve its performance.
Andhra Pradesh Govt Modern Functioning to ensure transparency
These smart ration cards designed similar to debit and credit cards. It aim to deliver more protection, accountability, and transparency to the system. Each card will convey the image of the family head, together with the names of all family members. A QR code on the card linked to a transaction tracking system. The cards will not show the pictures of any political leaders.
Revised ration distribution timings
Andhra Pradesh Govt released the revised distribution timings of Ration. The distribution will occurs from the 1st to the 15th of each month in two shifts: 8 AM to noon, and 4 PM to 8 PM. Home delivery of ration will retain for eligible beneficiaries from the 26th to the 30th of each month.
