On Tuesday, Punjab and Haryana high court said that it appears attempts were made to protects the police officials who attacks on Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath. Earlier this month, his son directs the Punjab government to file a reply by 28 March, and asks to explain delays in registration of FIR against cops. The plea of Pushpinder Singh Bath, accused the 12 Punjab police officials of attacking him and his son Angad on 13 March over parking dispute in Patiala. They are seeking for transfer of probe to CBI or other agency was taken up by bench of justice Sandeep Moudgil.
HC to submit reply by 28 March on Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath attack case
Government has asked to tell to court about name of officer who informed by petitioner regarding the incident and reasons for officer’s refusal to take action. The explanation is necessary for delays in registering FIR, despite of medico-legal reports of the victims and statement of 14 march available.

In petition, Colonel Bath alleged the police officers for brutally attacked on him and his son. He alleged that police officers snatched his ID card and mobile phone and threatened him with a “fake encounter” over parking dispute in Patiala
Punjab Police admit to lapses
In hearing, Punjab government counsel admits to lapses in FIR registration and submit that now FIR registered and special investigation team (SIT) is placed to headed SPS Parmar, director general of police, Punjab. The court also said, that despite complaint filed by Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath’s son and medical examination of the petitioner, initial FIR was filed on complaint of the dhaba owner, that is nothing less than attempt to protect police officers. It also questioned why dhaba owner is silent about alleged incident.
