BJP Slams Karnataka CM for GST Notices to Small Vendors, Major UPI Crackdown

Leader of the Opposition in the Council, N Ravi Kumar, and BJP MLC CT Ravi slammed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for attempting to shift the blame to the PM on the ongoing GST imbroglio in Karnataka.

Ravi Kumar blamed Siddaramaiah for discouraging PM Modi’s digital India. It push by forcing small vendors, retail merchants, and street service providers to adopt a “cash only policy” as opposed to UPI.

Why BJP slams Karnataka on GST Notices

The BJP leader said notices issued to companies that deal exclusively in exempted goods, which include fruits, plant life, meat, etc. It indicates a lack of application of mind through the officials. The notices issued on basis of third party facts without any verification.

UPI Crackdown after Cash Only Policy

MLC CT Ravi said that once notices issued, many vendors should stopped accepting cash by UPI. He said that the notices issued to small vendors in Karnataka based on the directives by the CM for the duration of a meeting of Finance Department officials. Notices issued to small vendors best in Karnataka, and it not finished in other states, he said.
