It was truly a dramatic moment in Kota, Rajasthan, when a man broke into a house to steal and ended up trapped in the shaft of a kitchen exhaust fan. He hung there helplessly for about an hour.
This incident happened at Subhash Kumar Rawat’s home while he was traveling to Khatushyamji on January 3. When Rawat’s wife unlocked the main gate upon returning home around 1 am the next day, the kitchen suddenly lit by the headlights of a scooter parked outside.
Thief caught and stuck in exhaust shaft in Rajasthan
What they saw was the thief stuck halfway through the kitchen’s exhaust fan shaft, with part of his body inside the house and the rest outside.
Police said the man entered the house with the plan to steal. However, while trying to squeeze through the exhaust fan shaft, he got stuck and could not free himself. Hearing the noise, one of his accomplices fled the scene, leaving the man trapped.
Police rescued the thief
The drama lasted for nearly an hour as locals tried to figure out what to do. Sources also said that the accused had arrived in a car with a police sticker, to avoid raising suspicion. Rajasthan Police later arrived, rescued the man, and took him into custody. An investigation is ongoing to find the partner who escaped and to see if the accused involved in other thefts in the area.
