Congress chief Jairam Ramesh took a sharp swipe at PM Modi after US President Donald Trump’s announce 25% tariff on Indian products. It will be effective from August 1.
Ramesh mocked the bonhomie shared between the two leaders, referencing the “Howdy Modi” event and other moments of camaraderie, said, “All that taarif among him and Howdy Modi has aim little.”
Congress leaders dig at PM Modi
He pointed to Trump’s repeated claims of halting Operation Sindoor, an high-profile US-Pakistan lunch that featured the Pakistan Army Chief quickly after the Pahalgam terror attacks. Despite those tendencies, Ramesh said, Modi selected silence, awaiting diplomatic rewards that never came.
