People block roads after Delhi Man Killed During Holi Fight
The conflict starts during holi celebrations when colored water from balloon splashed on women. A 11 year old girl thrown balloon while playing holi on terrace with relatives. When the balloon burst on the road and splashed the woman, an argument broke out between the two families.
The argument quickly turned into a violent clash. The injured youth, identified as Tarun, was reportedly attacked by a group as he returned home after celebrating Holi with friends. He suffered severe injuries in the assault and later died at the hospital on March 5.
Anger spread among hindu community
The victim’s family claimed that the attackers beat Tarun severely and even threw a large stone at his chest while he lay on the road. After the youth’s death, anger spread among residents and members of Hindu organizations. On March 6, hundreds gathered outside the Uttam Nagar Police Station, demanding strict action against the suspects.
Police reported that around 500 protesters were at the scene, while 200 to 300 police officers worked to maintain order. Security was increased in the area, and police restricted access to inner lanes to prevent further incidents.
