Delhi Metro Rail Corporation announces station timing for New Year

Though the station will remain open for an extended period, QR tickets that end at Rajiv Chowk will not be issued by DMRC after 8 PM through its mobile app. It is done so as to manage crowds during the festivities. Other metro services will operate normally, and the public is requested to plan in advance.

Delhi Police has also issued a traffic advisory to handle the heavy flow of visitors at popular New Year spots such as Connaught Place, India Gate, and Hauz Khas. In particular, areas such as roads near Select City Mall in Saket will have restrictions or diversions to facilitate smooth traffic flow.

Massive congregations are likely at Saket and surrounding localities on December 31 and January 1,” the advisory cautioned. “Traffic around Select City Mall would be regulated with diversion at some major points, Motorists are to be avoided through such roads and followed by instructions given by the traffic personnel.”

Police expects citizens to obey traffic rules

The Delhi Police appeals to all its citizens to stay put and obey traffic rules in respect of these festivities. Moreover, they asked everyone to check traffic updates via their official channels.

With the DMRC and traffic authorities working in coordination, the city is to make New Year’s Eve safe and smooth for all the revelers.
