At least four people injured when a high-speed Mahindra Thar reportedly crashed into an e-rickshaw in Sector 49 of Noida on Monday according to police.
The accident happened in front of a private hospital in Sector 49. Preliminary investigation shows that the SUV, allegedly driven at high speed, collided head-on with the e-rickshaw. This caused severe damage to the three-wheeler and threw its occupants onto the road.
Driver arrested in Noida Thar crash
The injured identified as Rajesh, Anoop, Rakesh, and Omprakash. A police team quickly arrived at the scene and took the injured to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving treatment. Doctors report that three of the victims remain in critical condition and closely monitored.
Police continue investigation
The driver of the Thar taken into custody and is questioned, according to police. The crash caused major traffic disruptions in the area. Police worked to clear the wrecked vehicles and manage traffic flow. Family members and friends of the injured gathered outside the hospital shortly after the accident. Police said that the investigation is ongoing and more details are expected.
