A men and his 8-year-old daughter had been crushed under Darjeeling Landslide. It is due to heavy rainfall in West Bengal’s Darjeeling district. The incident occurs in the Goke area under Bijanbari block, where Praneel Limbu (28) and his daughter Samantha hit by boulders that got here crashing down a hillside during repair works on a water pipeline close to their house.

Local assets said Praneel Limbu was repairing the pipeline while there was non-stop rain. His daughter was standing nearby whilst big rocks suddenly came crashing down, and they had no time to get away. Limbu died immediately, and daughter injured and rescued by villagers.
Neighbour Anil Rai, who witnessed the incident, said, “Praneel was working at the pipeline near his house and Samantha stand beside him. Suddenly, big rocks got here down from the hill. They didn’t even get time to react.”
The girl suffered from injuries and rushed to the Bijanbari Block Primary Health Centre, officials said. Cops from the nearby police station and fire brigade employees, who had been joined by residents, later recovered Limbu’s dead body from a ditch.
