A Helicopter crash happens in kedarnath that is coming from AIIMS on Saturday, May 17. The heli-ambulance crash-landed because of harm to the tail part of the helicopter.
Helicopter crash in Kedarnath
A ‘Sanjeevani’ heli ambulance operated by AIIMS, Rishikesh made an emergency landing. It had long gone to Kedarnath to rescue a pilgrim laid low with breathing misery when it advanced a technical snag in its tail rotor, forcing the pilot to make an emergency touchdown, said District Tourism Development Officer Rahul Chaubey.
Passengers are safe
Two doctors and a pilot on board the helicopter are safe, he said. A video of the incident was shared by news agency. The heli ambulance was coming to Kedarnath from AIIMS Rishikesh to rescue a passenger, Shree Devi. Before touchdown at the main helipad of Kedarnath, the heli ambulance developed a few technical snag.
Realising it on time, the pilot notion it good to land on a flat surface just before the helipad. However, the helicopter’s tail rotor broke for the duration of the emergency landing. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will conduct an investigation into Helicopter crash incident, Choubey said.
