The Ministry of Electronics and Electronics Technology of India announced seven projects worth ₹5,532 crore on Monday, October 27, 2025. Five of these projects are in Tamil Nadu, with one each in Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. These initiatives fall under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS).

Private companies will make the investments under the ECMS. Depending on the component type and the year of operation, these companies can receive 1-10% of their production value as incentives over six years.
Kaynes Circuits India Pvt. Ltd., based in Mysore, will establish manufacturing units to produce printed circuit boards (PCBs), camera module sub-assemblies, and laminates. The facilities will be located in Chennai and Thoothukudi, according to Kaynes Vice-Chairman Ramesh Kunhikannan. The majority of Kaynes’s ₹3,280 crore investment, about 87%, directed towards PCBs and laminates.

“Polypropylene film and copper laminates currently imported, and these units meet 100% of domestic demand,” said IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The India government expects production to reach ₹44,406 crore and create 5,195 new jobs from these projects. The projects in Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh carried out by SRF Ltd., based in Gurugram, and Syrma Strategic Electronics Pvt. Ltd., located in Chennai.
Ascent Circuits Pvt. Ltd., based in Hosur, will also build a PCB facility in Tamil Nadu with an investment of ₹991 crore.
