The Government has ordered Oil Refineries to increase LPG production and use the extra supply for domestic needs. This decision comes in response to current geopolitical disruptions affecting fuel supply and limits on LPG availability.
Oil Refineries increase LPG production for households
In a social media post, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas announced that the Government is prioritizing domestic LPG supply to households. They introduced a 25-day inter-booking period to prevent hoarding and black marketing. The Ministry also mentioned that imports of LPG for non-domestic use are prioritized for essential sectors like hospitals and schools.
Also focus on Increase production planning for commercial sector
Additionally, the Ministry said that for other non-domestic sectors, a committee of three Executive Directors from Oil Marketing Companies formed to review requests for LPG supply to restaurants, hotels, and other industries.
