India Rejects China Attempts to rename places in Arunachal Pradesh

On 14 May, India Rejects China tries to rename some locations in Arunachal Pradesh, saying such “preposterous” tries will not change the truth that the State “become, is, and will” always stay an integral part of India.

New Delhi’s reaction came in response to Beijing saying Chinese names for some locations in Arunachal Pradesh, which the neighbouring country claims as the southern a part of Tibet.

“We have observed that China has persevered with its vain and preposterous tries to name locations in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh,” External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said. Tries to rename a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, saying such “preposterous” tries will not change the reality that the State “was, is, and could” continually stay an vital a part of India.

“Consistent with our main position, we reject such attempts categorically,” he said.
