Two terrorists killed in the Gurez sector of Bandipore district during a joint operation by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police. This operation followed intelligence about a possible infiltration attempt.
Indian Army challenge terrorists
The Srinagar-based Chinar Corps reported that alert troops noticed suspicious activity in the Gurez sector. They challenged the terrorists, who then opened fire, prompting the troops to respond effectively, resulting in the death of the two terrorists. “Based on intelligence from JKP about a possible infiltration attempt, the Indian Army and @JmuKmrPolice launched a joint operation in Gurez Sector.
Alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged it, which led to the terrorists opening fire. Troops responded with effective fire, neutralising two terrorists. The operation is ongoing,” Chinar Corps stated in a post on X.
Two terrorists killed on LoC
On August 13, a soldier killed during a fire exchange while the Army stopped an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector, Jammu and Kashmir. The troops successfully halted the infiltration in the Churunda area of Uri in Baramulla district, according to the Army.
Earlier, on July 30, two terrorists, believed to be members of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) killed in a fierce gunfight when alert Army troops thwarted their infiltration attempt along the LoC in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. This encounter came two days after Indian Army killed three hardcore terrorists involved in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in a forest in Srinagar.
