Indore has once more secured the top spot as India’s cleanest city. It marks the 8th win in annual Swachh Survekshan survey. In the 3-10 lakh population category, Noida has secured the top spot because the cleanest city, with Chandigarh coming in 2nd and Mysuru score 3rd. President Droupadi Murmu honored Swachh Survekshan 2024–25 Awards during national ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi today.
Indore Honored with Most Cleanest City of India
Organised by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), the occasion honoured cities and concrete bodies for their efforts in maintaining cleanliness under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban (SBM-U).
Swachh Survekshan is the sector’s largest city cleanliness survey, assessing cities on factors that includes waste control, sanitation system, and citizen participation.
Top spot in Swachh Survekshan 2024–25 Awards
Indore’s contributions to series of innovative measures and active civic engagement make it city to be honored. The city implements strict waste segregation, promoted a incremental rubbish reduction coverage, and empowers the importance of cleanliness amongst residents.
The statement comes after Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav exuded confidence that Indore honoured in the Swachh Survekshan 2024–25 Awards, securing the top spot. “This new category recognises past overall performance and future potential. Indore merits this position,” Yadav had said.
