A one-month-old baby was found dead in her home in the cantonment area of Bareilly. Police confirmed that the infant died due to illness, officials said on Sunday. Station House Officer Subhash Yadav mentioned that the situation came to light on Saturday when police arrived at the Kila area and started an investigation.
Parents go for begging, infant dies in Bareilly house
The body was sent for a post-mortem examination, which confirmed that the infant died from illness and weakness. Preliminary investigation showed that the child’s parents, Shadab and his wife Hina (also known as Saina), along with other family members, support themselves by begging. The family had been living in a rented place in the area for the past four months.
Poor family leave behind
Police said that the couple has four minor children: one son and three daughters. The infant, born prematurely around one-and-a-half months ago and was weak since birth.
On Friday morning, the parents allegedly locked their children inside the Bareilly house and went out to beg. When they returned at night, they found the infant dead inside. The SHO noted that the family has not accused anyone, and further investigation is ongoing.
