ISKCON temple at Tirupati received a bomb threat email stating that it would be placed inside the temple on Sunday morning. The officials of the temple authority reported the alarming news claiming that terrorists were prepared to strike the temple premises through explosives.
After that threat, the Tirupati police took massive steps by bringing some squads and dog units there in the temple premises and ensure its safety.
ISKCON temple received bomb threats and there was no suspicious item or explosive found after these security persons had inspected it in detail. The authorities had cleared the place only after it was confirmed there was no immediate danger posed by such a threat.
Talking on the matter, Circle Inspector Srinivasulu stated that police were not neglecting any steps for an investigation to find who had sent this email. It is quite possibly a hoax, according to officials, since the temple town has witnessed something like this in recent days.
ISKCON temple and nearby hotel receive bomb threat
This is the fourth hoax bomb alert that Tirupati has seen in the past three days. In addition to ISKCON, several hotels in Tirupati received bomb threats. Two hotels Saturday reported receiving emails, but later proved to be hoaxes. Before that, three other hotels had also received bomb threats that threw the local residents and visitors into great anxiety.
The same email that led authorities to bomb threat against the ISKCON temple also refers to Jaffer Sadiq, a known drug trafficking kingpin who was recently arrested in Tamil Nadu by the Narcotics Control Bureau and the Enforcement Directorate. The police are investigating any such link between the threats made and Sadiq’s network.
An FIR has been filed and an investigation is going on to trace the source of these bomb threats. Police are taking extreme caution so as not to cause further panic in the town as these hoax threats keep disrupting the lives of the residents and the devotees of Tirupati.
