A terrorist has been killed with security forces in J & K Awantipora Encounter this morning. A fierce gunbattle goes on for the closing hours with two more terrorists trapped in the place, the police said. The come across started out at Nader and Tral region of Awantipora, which is a sub-district of Pulwama, in south Kashmir This is the second encounter upon in 48 hours.
On Tuesday (13 May), three terrorists have been killed in an come across with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian. The encounter upon to begin with started out in Kulgam and then shifted to a wooded area area in Shopian. Security forces intercepted the terrorists following an intelligence center.
J & K Awantipora Encounter Killed Terrorists
The Indian Army posted on X, “On 13 May 2025, based on specific intelligence of a Rashtriyas Rifles Unit, about presence of terrorists in standard region Shoekal Keller, Shopian, Indian Army launched a seek and ruin Operation. During the operation, terrorists opened heavy fire and fierce firefight ensued, which ended in removal of three hardcore terrorists.
Several operations are being completed in Jammu and Kashmir on a regular basis, particularly after the Pahalgam terror attack of April 22, wherein 26 human beings have been killed.
Attacks and Strikes after Op Sindoor
The attacks and J & K Awantipora Encounter are not new, there are many encounters happens earlier. In response to the Pahalgam attack, India on May 7 launched Operation Sindoor, targetting 9 terror groups in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operation escalated bilateral tensions between the two countries, ensuing in strikes and counter-strikes.
On May 10, India and Pakistan reached a ceasefire agreement and figuring out to halt all army strikes on land, air and sea, with impact from 5pm.
