Nagpur police arrested a person for allegedly threatening to bomb Union Minister Nitin Gadkari house on Wardha Road in Maharashtra’s Nagpur District. The incident raise security concerns at the senior BJP chief’s house. The accused, identified as Umesh Vishnu Raut detained by the police and now in police custody.
According to the police, the city’s control room receive call on the emergency number 112. It warns that Gadkari’s Mahal house blown up in 10 minutes. The call traced to mobile number 7498579746, registered in the name of Umesh Vishnu Raut, a resident of Tulsi Bagh Road, Mahal, close to Beema Dawakhana, Sakkardara.
Accused arrested in Fake bomb threat to Nitin Gadkari
On this, DCP Nagpur, S Rushikesh Reddy said, “We received a call in which someone claimed they had install a bomb in Nitin Gadkari’s home, and it was going to explode. Immediately, we activated the bomb squad and secured the residence safety. Our officers also conducts a visit. We also checked the residence with the bomb squad. However, we unable to discover anything. So, we quickly understood it was a fake call”.
Arrested man work at liquor store
The accused Raut, who works at a liquor store close to Medical Square, was detained from the Beema Dawakhana location quickly. He is currently in police custody for a interrogation, and an investigation into the cause of the threat to Nitin Gadkari house.
DCP Reddy said, ” We traced the call to its beginning and find the caller. We filed a FIR and arrested him; he’s now in our custody. The investigation is ongoing to decide why he did this. We have arrested a person named Umesh Raut. The name was traced from his phone number… He has no criminal records and no previous cases against him… He is a working at an liquor store.”
