The Manipur police in coordination with CAPF and Army recovered 328 guns in raids on the outskirts of 5 Valley district on June 14, 2025. The recoveries consists 6 AK series of rifles, 151 SLRs, 65 INSAS, mortar, pistols, carbines and more than 5,000 rounds of ammunition. A police official also said that the recoveries include looted police guns. Since the ethnic violence erupted in Manipur on May 3, 2023, around 6,000 guns and lakhs of ammunitions looted from police armouries.

The Manipur Police reiterated its dedication to a peaceful and secure Manipur. The public advised to cooperate with police and security forces and report any suspicious activities or data associated with illegal weapons to the closest police station or Central Control Room.
Senior police officers are in close coordination with all safety stakeholders to ensure that such operations maintain in a sustained and targeted way to restore normalcy, hold public order, and ensure the safety and security of residents and their properties.
