Masked Man Breaches Delhi Assembly VIP Gate, Leaves Bouquet; 3 Detained

One suspect has been arrested and two others detained after a masked man in a car broke through an iron gate at the Delhi legislative assembly complex on Monday. This incident is being treated as a major security breach.

The driver of the car, identified as Sarbjit Singh, has been detained. He broke through Gate 2, which is used for VIPs. After exiting the car, he placed a bouquet on the porch near Speaker Vijender Gupta’s car and then drove away. Police confirmed he was captured on CCTV.

He collided with the tall iron gate and a boom barrier while entering and leaving the area. The three suspects were apprehended in about two hours.

Found nothing suspicious

Bomb squad teams and the crime branch have been called in, but nothing suspicious has been found so far. Special Commissioner of Police Anil Shukla and Special CP for Law and Order Ravindra Yadav are present at the scene.

What police have reported so far is that the car, a white Tata Sierra SUV, has a registration number from UP. It is registered in the name of Sarbjit Singh.

Delhi Officials have questioned staff present at Gate 2 and inside during the incident. Police also spoke with a rickshaw-puller who reported being hit by the same car around 2:15 pm outside. Further details are awaited.
