Mini Cooper Crash in Goa Kills Woman Working at 5-Star Hotel

A 23-year-old woman has died, and her 26-year-old colleague has serious injuries after a Mini Cooper convertible crashed into a bike in Goa. Darius Dias, a 21-year-old son of a local businessman, was driving the car during the accident. He has been arrested.

Police reported that Diksha Parwadkar and D Arun kumar worked at a five-star hotel in Goa. They were riding home on a bike when the Mini Cooper struck them on the Bambolim-Dona Paula road, near Manipal Hospital. The crash threw Diksha and Arun kumar off the bike. Some reports say the bike thrown about 50 meters from the point of impact.

The two taken to a hospital. Diksha did not survive her injuries, while Arunkumar is receiving treatment.

Son of businessman rash driving Mini cooper

Darius Dias, who was driving the Mini Cooper, is the son of Andrew Dias, a businessman with a bakery and hotels in Goa. The car had a temporary number plate, indicating it not registered in Goa. Some reports mentioned that the Mini Cooper recently bought and had ribbons on the doors, which usually seen on new cars.

Police have filed a case under Section 106 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deals with causing death by negligence. According to a report, the victim’s family claims there is a lack of transparency in the investigation and has accused the police of a “complete blackout” regarding the probe.
