According to a report, the PM will visit three key locations: Kokrajhar, Guwahati, and Silchar. He will lay the foundation for policies covering various sectors, including high-speed corridors and land rights for tea garden workers.

A major focus of the visit is the Shillong-Silchar Corridor, a ₹22,860 crore greenfield project. Officials interviewed by ANI noted that this 166 km high-speed corridor will cut travel time from Guwahati to Silchar by three hours, reducing the journey from 8.5 hours to just 5 hours.

Launch new train services to boost connectivity

During his visit, the Prime Minister will also launch three new train services to enhance connectivity in Assam and the wider North-East region.

Plans to improve social security and energy infrastructure are also part of the visit. The Prime Minister is expected to distribute land pattas to tea garden workers in Guwahati. Officials say that providing land pattas will improve housing security, offer better access to loans and welfare programs, and support long-term social and economic progress.
