Modi Launches Rs 7,100 Crore Projects in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry

Modi visit Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on March 1, 2026, after his engagements in Rajasthan and Gujarat. He set to arrive in Chennai late on February 28 at about 9 PM.

On March 1, Modi inaugurate, dedicate, and lay the foundation stone for several development projects. It worth over Rs 2,700 crore in Puducherry at around 11:45 AM. He will also address the gathering there.

Next, the PM will head to Madurai. Around 3 PM, he inaugurate, dedicate, and lay the foundation stone for infrastructure projects exceeding Rs 4,400 crore, and he address the crowd. At around 4 PM, he will perform darshan and pooja at the Arulmigu Subramaniya swamy Temple in Tirupparankundram, Madurai.

In Puducherry, the initiatives cover infrastructure, urban services, industrial development, education, healthcare, and sustainable growth.

Projects launched in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry

Key projects include the launch of e-Buses under the PM e-Bus Seva Initiative, the Integrated Command and Control Centre under the Smart City Mission, and housing for Economically Weaker Sections under the City Investments to Innovate, Integrate and Sustain (CITIIS) initiative. Important sewerage and water supply projects by the Government of Puducherry also inaugurated.

The PM Modi dedicate the Composite Engineering Block, named Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Block, and the Ganga Hostel at the National Institute of Technology, Karaikal. Modi dedicate the 750-acre Karasur-Sedarapet Industrial Estate, which includes facilities like a Pharma Park, Textile Park, IT Park, a research and development centre from IIT Madras, and healthcare facilities from JIPMER. It increase industrial growth and create jobs.
