Along with PMO, Seva Teerth includes the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat.
The ministries that moved to Kartavya Bhavan-1 and 2 are the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Law and Justice, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
Improve administrative structure
The PMO described the inauguration as an important step in India’s administrative structure. It reflects the PM goal of creating a modern, efficient, accessible, and citizen-focused governance system.
The move of ministries necessary due to what the PMO called outdated and scattered infrastructure across multiple sites in the Central Vista area. The statement noted that this spread had caused operational inefficiencies, coordination problems, rising maintenance costs, and less effective work environments.
“The new building complexes tackle these problems by bringing administrative functions together in modern, ready-for-the-future facilities,” the PMO said.
