To look into claims of sexual harassment and religious conversion at a Nashik -based IT company, the Nashik Police have set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The SIT has filed 9 First Information Reports (FIRs) and arrested 6 suspects so far.
The SIT reports that several female police officers risked their lives and worked undercover to expose the alleged corporate scheme. The six suspects are now in 14-day judicial custody.
Covert Operation by Nashik Police Uncovers Racket
This undercover operation revealed a troubling case of abuse against women inside a well-known multinational company. The situation came to light after several women reported the alleged mistreatment.
Following these claims, authorities received complaints about women facing abuse at the company. Taking these complaints seriously, Police Commissioner SandeepKarnik appointed Deputy Commissioner Monika Raut to lead the investigation.
Undercover Team And Investigation
At first, gathering evidence related to the alleged scheme was tough for the police. In response, a small team of 7, including 3 female officers, was formed. Their thorough investigation, built on earlier work, exposed the case. The female officers earned the victims’ trust and helped uncover the alleged misconduct, leading to FIRs and arrests.
To enhance the operation, police said that, following the Commissioner’s orders, female officers went undercover, posing as job seekers to infiltrate the company. They were present at suspected locations, closely monitoring the accused while risking their own safety.
