Today, NDA held the Bihar Bandh for 5 hours to protest against abusive comments on PM’s Mother made during Rahul Gandhi Yatra in state. The shutdown, led by the NDA’s women’s wing, will take place from 7 am to noon on Thursday, with emergency services being exempt. According to BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal, the protest held against the “abusive language” used from a stage during the yatra in Darbhanga town.
Bihar Bandh 5 Hours protest in state
A video from Rahul Gandhi’s rally showed an unidentified person using a Hindi expletive against Modi and his mother. Jaiswal condemned the act as an “insult to all mothers.” He said that the purpose of the bandh is to protest the incident and assured the public that they would face minimal inconveniences.
“All NDA leaders strongly condemned the abusive language used against the PM’s mother from the stage of the RJD and the Congress in Darbhanga during the recent ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’. This was not just an insult to Modi’s mother but to all mothers,” Jaiswal said.
Abusive remarks by Congress Party Refers to “Jungle Raj Culture”
JDU state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha shared these views, labeling the comments as “abusive remarks” that are a “insult to democratic culture” and the “revered position of a mother.” Anil Kumar, the state president of Hindustani Awam Morcha, said that the “abusive language reminds people of the ‘jungle raj’ culture.”
In response, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav accused the BJP-led NDA of engaging in “impure and insincere politics.” He pointed out that the ruling alliance was calling a bandh because the BJP was “rattled by the success” of the yatra.
“They are in power and yet they are calling a Bihar Bandh. The BJP rattled by the success of our yatra that covered a distance of more than 1,300 kilometers across 25 districts,” the RJD leader noted. Yadav also claimed that the Prime Minister’s emotional reaction to the incident was “impure and insincere,” referring to the PM’s past remarks about other political figures.
