A Noida constable was attacked in Ghaziabad on Sunday whilst trying to arrest a desired accused named Qadir. During the operation, a violent mob opened a fire and pelted stones at the police. Constable Saurabh, who became a part of the team, was shot and later succumbed to his injuries at a health facility.
The police team had long gone to Qadir’s house in a village in Masuri, Ghaziabad, to arrest him. As soon as the raid started, the crowd was opposed and start stone-pelting.
Mobs open fire on Noida constable
Allegedly, members of the mob also opened a fire, in which Constable Saurabh, posted at Phase-2 Police Station in Noida, was shot. He was straight away rushed to the health center, where docs declared him dead. Apart from Saurabh, 2–3 different police employees sustained injuries throughout the attack. They are undergoing treatment and are said to be out of risk.
Police Commission provide support to Family
An FIR has been registered based on a criticism filed by a Noida sub-inspector. As soon as information about the incident were obtained, a police force rushed to the spot. Amid the chaos and firing, the accused Qadir tried to flee the scene alongside his friends; however, he was arrested.
The Noida Police Commission later give support for the family of the Noida constable. Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh will individually make a contribution of Rs 1 lakh from her income to the constable’s own family. Also, all police personnel posted in the district will donate one day’s salary to assist the bereaved family.
