Two workers were killed and 4 injured in Oxygen Plant Blast in Mohali on Wednesday, officials said. The explosion took place around 9 am at the unit located in the business location in Phase 9 of Mohali. The unit transports oxygen cylinders to hospitals.
Senior police and civil administration officials, along with the sub-divisional Justice of the Peace, reached the spot to control situation. The injured rushed to the Civil Hospital in Mohali’s Phase 6.

Superintendent of police Sirivennela said, “We reached the site as soon we know about it. We are looking into the cause and if there was any mistake. It’s under investigation.” The deceased identified as Devinder, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, and Asif, who were working and living in Mohali for over 5 years. Both of them have been in their 20s.

Tension increase at site of Oxygen Plant Blast in Mohali in when government tried to move the bodies in a ambulance. Family members of the victims ran after the vehicle and stopped it midway, asking the reason for the blast and seeking reimbursement.
“They’re taking the body without even informing us. We will not permit to occur this. I’ve lost my brother. How can they just take him away like this,” said Asif’s brother Bhulla. Devinder’s elder brother Pawan, broke down, said: “He came here to work because of me. Now I’ve lost him. I won’t allow all to take his body till we get right compensation.” District officials said the investigation is continue, and reason will observed based on the findings.
