In one of the deadliest Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir in recent years, at least 28 tourists, had been killed and numerous others had been injured when terrorists opened fire on a huge traffic in Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam, located in the southern Anantnag district.
The attack happened around 2:45 PM on Tuesday as tourists — number of them families from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu — had been exploring the lush meadows of Baisaran, frequently dubbed “mini Switzerland” for its alpine beauty. Among the tourists, there are two foreigners and local residents, police confirmed, although identities have not begun to be formally released.
Tourists Witness Threat of Pahalgam terror attack
Eyewitnesses defined scenes of chaos and horror as terrorists clad in navy-style fatigues emerged unexpectedly and started firing automatic guns without caution. “We heard unexpected gunshots, and people started screaming and strolling for canopy,” stated an eyewitness. “It all came about right away.”
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah referred to as the attack a “ugly and calculated bloodbath” and admitted the scale of the tragedy become “a good deal bigger than something we’ve visible directed at civilians in latest years.” He stated the demise toll remains being ascertained, and will announced officially later.
TRF Revealed Connected with Pakistan Terrorist Group
The Resistance Front (TRF), a shadow outfit believed to be affiliated with the Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), claimed reportedly responsibility for the attack Intelligence officers suspect the terrorists can also have infiltrated from the Kishtwar city in Jammu and made their way to Baisaran via Kokernag in south Kashmir.
Security forces released a huge combing operation in the forests surrounding the Baisaran valley soon after the attack. Senior officials from the police and military’s counter-terrorism devices arrived at the scene to oversee rescue operations after Pahalgam terror attack.
