PM Modi will visit Jharsuguda, Odisha and lay foundation of BSNL4G network and inaugurate several development projects worth over Rs 60,000 crore. These projects cover telecommunications, railways, healthcare, higher education, skill development, and rural housing, significantly improving the state’s infrastructure and social welfare efforts.
PM launch Rs 60,000 Crore Projects in Odisha
Early in the day, PM Modi posted on the social media site X, announcing, “I will be in Jharsuguda, Odisha, to inaugurate developmental works worth over Rs 50,000 crore. In a historic achievement, over 97,500 telecom towers across India will commissioned. These built using local technologies and will enhance connectivity in remote areas, border areas, and regions affected by Maoism.”
During his visit, the PM will commission more than 97,500 mobile 4G towers built with local technology at a cost of around Rs 37,000 crore. Of these, over 92,600 4G sites set up by BSNL, while 18,900 sites funded under the Digital Bharat Nidhi will provide connectivity to 26,700 previously unconnected villages in remote, border, and Maoist-affected areas, helps over 20 lakh new subscribers.
Planning for launch of Amrit Bharat Express
On the railway side, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Sambalpur-Sarla Rail Flyover and dedicate the doubling of the Koraput-Baiguda line and the Manabar-Koraput-Gorapur line to the country. These projects aim to improve freight and passenger connectivity in Odisha and nearby states, boost trade and supporting local industries. He will also launch the Amrit Bharat Express between Berhampur and Udhna (Surat), providing affordable, efficient travel, enhancing tourism, and linking important economic districts.
Additionally, healthcare facilities will receive a significant upgrade with the foundation stones for the upgrades of MKCG Medical College in Berhampur and VIMSAR in Sambalpur into super-speciality hospitals.
