PM Modi visit Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, today, 25 December, to mark the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Modi open the Rashtra Prerna Sthal and speak to a public gathering for the event, according to an official release. The Rashtra Prerna Sthal created as a national memorial and an inspirational site of lasting importance.

Covering 65 acres on Hardoi Road, just outside Lucknow, the complex features 65-foot-high bronze statues of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) figures Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Each statue weighs 42 tonnes and surrounded by a water body.
Complex built at 230 crore budget
Built at an estimated cost of ₹230 crore, the complex aims to be a permanent national asset that promotes leadership values, national service, cultural awareness, and public inspiration, according to an official statement. The project developed under the Basant Kunj scheme of Lucknow Development Authority (LDA), with construction starting in 2022.
The memorial also includes a modern museum designed like a lotus, covering about 98,000 square feet. The museum presents India’s national journey and the contributions of these leaders using digital and immersive technologies. This setup offers visitors an engaging and educational experience.
The museum has five galleries and 12 interpretation walls dedicated to the three leaders. Two rooms will feature orientation films about their lives.
