Two men arrested in Gurgaon for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a delivery boy in broad daylight to recover Rs 6.5 lakh, which they claimed he had stolen.
The incident took place in Cyber City, Gurugram. The suspects, identified as Jaiveer and Aman caught in the act thanks to quick action by the Gurugram Police. They allegedly attacked and abducted the delivery boy over a longstanding money dispute.
Delivery boy kidnapped in Gurgaon
According to police, the victim, a delivery worker from Bhiwani, filed a complaint stating that the incident happened on January 21 at around 5:30 pm. He was returning from a delivery with his colleague, Pankaj, when a car blocked their path near the Suzuki showroom on SBI Road. Moments later, another vehicle arrived.
As soon as the vehicles stopped, Jaiveer, Aman, and their associates reportedly got out and began hitting the victim with a wooden stick. They allegedly threatened to kill him before forcibly pushing him into their car and kidnapping him in full view of the public.
Kidnapping to recover 6.5 lakhs
A passerby called the police about the kidnapping, prompting the Emergency Vehicle Response (EVR) team to rush to the location. When the accused saw the police, they tried to escape but chased down and arrested. The police successfully rescued the victim and seized one car along with the wooden stick used in the attack.
During questioning, the accused, Jaiveer, said that the kidnapped man was his friend. He claimed that after selling his truck in 2024, he had kept Rs 6.5 lakh in his car, which the victim allegedly stole. When his repeated requests for the money ignored, the accused reportedly planned the kidnapping to force him to return it.
A police spokesperson stated that the suspects intended to threaten the victim and recover the money, but their plan fell apart due to the timely police response after the victim’s colleague alerted the authorities.
