Priyanka Gandhi Slams Lok Sabha Chair Over Silence on Amit Shah ‘Abusive’ Exchange

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that Home Minister Amit Shah speaks abusively inside Lok Sabha, yet the Chair does not stop him.

Her remarks came as the Opposition protested against Shah’s comment during the debate on a resolution to remove Om Birla as Speaker. Shah used an inappropriate term while attacking Congress.

The Opposition MPs objected to this comment, during which Shah claimed the Chair could delete the offensive word.

When asked about Shah’s claims regarding Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s attendance, Priyanka clarified that the “no-confidence motion” targeted the Speaker, not Gandhi.

She said, “Amit Shah uses abusive words inside the House, and the Speaker does not even stop him.” The Opposition’s resolution alleged that Birla biased and acted like a spokesperson for the ruling party.

Controversy During Debate on Resolution Against the Speaker

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh criticized Shah, said that “one of the Home Minister’s favorite words, said again today in the Lok Sabha, has removed. It used and removed on December 10, 2025.”

Ramesh pointed out that on February 6, 2020, a word used by the PM in the Rajya Sabha also removed. “G2 are masters of abuse and defamation,” he posted on ‘X’.
