Punjab Muktsar firecracker factory blast, 5 Dead, 29 others injured

Five migrant workers killed and 29 others injured in Muktsar firecracker factory blast in Singhewala village of Punjab’s Muktsar district during early hours of Friday. The blast, which occurred round 1 am, said about the entire factory structure to crumble. The manufacturing unit, placed near the Haryana border, employed several migrant workers engaged in the production and packaging of firecrackers.

“Initial data shows that the blast occurred in the cracker manufacturing unit for reasons need to found. The constructing collapsed as result, cause casualties. Prima facie, it seems the deaths have been due to structural damage in place of a fireplace,” said Muktsar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Akhil Chaudhary.

Lambi Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jaspal Singh later showed that five our bodies recovered from the particles, and 29 injured individuals, all male migrant people, have been rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bathinda, and hospitals in Muktsar.

Rescue Groups on blast site

Emergency services and rescue groups, coordinated by the district management, had been still on the scene hours after the Muktsar firecracker factory blast, working to clean the site and search for anybody who may trapped.
