Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused the Sangh Parivar of spreading economic and social poison in the country. This comment came in light of a growing rift between Hindu activists and a Muslim shopkeeper in Kotdwar, Uttarakhand. An FIR was filed against unknown individuals for disturbing the peace.
Gym Trainer stand up for Sangh Parivar, against Rahul Gandhi
“Deepak Kumar from Uttarakhand is a hero of India. He is fighting for the Constitution and for humanity. He stands up for the Constitution that the BJP and the Sangh Parivar try to undermine every day,” Gandhi said on social media while sharing a photograph of Deepak Kumar. Deepak runs a gym in Kotdwar and confronted the Hindu activists, emphasizing his name as “Mohammad Deepak.”
“He is a shining example of love in a market filled with hatred, and this is what troubles those in power the most,” Gandhi added.
About Kotdwar Incident
“The Sangh Parivar is intentionally spreading economic and social poison so that India remains divided. This way, a few people can maintain control through fear. The BJP government in Uttarakhand openly supports the anti-social forces that intimidate and harass ordinary citizens,” Rahul Gandhi said.
“We need more Deepaks—people who do not back down, who are not afraid, and who stand strong with the Constitution. We stand with you, brother. Don’t be afraid. You are a lion,” Gandhi encouraged. Deepak Kumar intervened when some Bajrang Dal activists threatened Vakeek Ahmed, a 70-year-old Muslim shopkeeper, for using “Baba” in his shop name. Baba is considered a holy Hindu word in Kotdwar.
In a video of the incident, Deepak Kumar confronted the mob, questioning why only Hindus can name their shops Baba but not Ahmed.
