Unidentified humans allegedly threw eggs at participants of a motorcycle rally organised at the occasion of Ram Navami at a locality in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, cause Ram Navami Violence at place, police stated on Monday. Following the incident on Sunday, nearby police rushed to the location and taken the state of affairs under control, they said, adding a case became registered against unidentified humans on charges of mischief and hurting religious sentiments.

The rally, organised by Sakal Hindu Samaj to mark the event of Ram Navami, had started from Sarveshwar Temple in Chikhaldongri and became enroute to Pimpleshwar Temple at Global City in Virar (West) when the incident came about, they said.
About 100 to 150 motorbikes, a ceremonial chariot, and two tempos had been part of the procession, which drew a large participation from the locals. When the rally members reached their destination near Pimpleshwar Temple, some motorcycle riders, who had taken a side street, have been all of sudden focused by eggs allegedly thrown from a close-by constructing, a police authentic said. The Bolinj police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections for public mischief and hurting spiritual sentiments and intensified vigilance in the city, he stated. Authorities have also appealed to the public to stay calm and keep away from spreading any unverified facts on social media that might inflame tensions, the police stated.
