Speeding Student Kills Boy, Injures Four Near Lucknow Temple

A Class 12 student arrested after his car crashed into an autorickshaw and pedestrians on Kanpur Road in Banthra, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The incident happened evening and resulted in the death of a six-year-old boy and injuries to four others.

Speedy car kill 6 year old boy in Lucknow

According to police, the student was returning with a friend from a farewell party at his school when the accident took place. He reportedly left his friend at the scene and fled in the car.

“The accused had borrowed the car from a friend and has a valid driving license. His father owns a cement shop in the area,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police Krishnanagar Rajneesh Verma.

Injured others, taken to hospital

Deputy Commissioner of Police South Nipun Agarwal said that the driver is 21 years old based on his driving license. “We are looking into why he is still in Class 12 at 21. We also questioning the girl who was with him, as she is minor,” the DCP said.

The accident happened around 6 PM near Lucknow temple. The injured victims included Armaan (12), Awadh Bihari (42), Sadhna Verma (35), and Meena Devi (60). The deceased was six-year-old Dikshant Patel.

“All the injured taken to a hospital for treatment. Dikshant Patel injured and died during treatment,” the DCP said. “The vehicle seized, all the injured are stable, and two have been discharged,” he continued.
