Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla has landed on Earth safely with 3 different members of the Axiom-4 Mission. The landing facilitated by deployment of Drogue Parachutes. It stabilise the descent at 5.7 kms altitude, followed by the main parachutes at around 2 kms.
Successful journey of Shubhanshu Shukla on Axiom-4 Mission
After spending 18 days at the International Space Station (ISS), the Ax-4 crew safely land on Earth. The team’s journey closer to Earth starts with the spacecraft. It perform a sequence of departure burns to move from the distance station. The de-orbit burn occurred at around 2:07 PM IST on July 15. After this, the spacecraft jettisoned the trunk, closed the nosecone, and entered the Earth’s environment, leading to their safe landing close to the scheduled time.
Axiom-4 Crew Undergoes rehabilitation programme
All 4 astronauts with commander Peggy Whitson, mission pilot Shubhanshu Shukla of India, and mission experts Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski of Poland and Tibor Kapu of Hungary now undergo a 7-day rehabilitation programme. It assist them adapt back to Earth’s gravity.
PM Modi welcomed Shukla upon his return from the mission and referred to him as an inspiration. In a post on X, Modi said, “I be part of the country in welcoming Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla as he returns to Earth.
