The ALH, which was making an attempt to land at the airport, went down. Inspector Rajesh Kanmiya of Kamala Baug police station said that all three crew members on board were pulled out of the wreckage and rushed to a nearby hospital with critical burn injuries.

All of them succumbed to their injuries despite medical intervention. The Coast Guard released a statement with deep condolence over the incident. The statement read: “We pay tribute to the courageous crew, who have succumbed to martyrdom in duty.” It added that a Board of Inquiry had been instituted into the crash’s cause.
