Three Indian Coast Guard personnel, two of whom are pilots, died in a tragic helicopter crash at the Porbandar airport in Gujarat on Sunday. The accident happened around 12:10 pm during a routine training sortie, police officials confirmed.

How did the tragic helicopter crash at Porbandar Airport in Gujarat take place?

The ALH, which was making an attempt to land at the airport, went down. Inspector Rajesh Kanmiya of Kamala Baug police station said that all three crew members on board were pulled out of the wreckage and rushed to a nearby hospital with critical burn injuries.

All of them succumbed to their injuries despite medical intervention. The Coast Guard released a statement with deep condolence over the incident. The statement read: “We pay tribute to the courageous crew, who have succumbed to martyrdom in duty.” It added that a Board of Inquiry had been instituted into the crash’s cause.
