Two UP Constables Suspended for Stealing iPhone 15 Pro Max Worth ₹1.62 Lakh from Jaunpur Shop

Two UP Constables were suspended after caught on CCTV while stealing an expensive iPhone from a mobile showroom in the Line Bazar police station area.

The incident happened on Saturday, February 7, around 2 p.m., at a mobile showroom located at JC’s intersection.

UP Constables caught while stealing ₹1.62 Lakh iPhones

According to the shop owner, the two constables entered the shop as customers and asked a female staff member to show them iPhones. They spent nearly 20 minutes examining different models.

Eventually, the two told the staff that they did not like any of the phones and walked out of the showroom.

Old iPhone kept, new iPhone stolen

The shop owner, Shivam, later noticed that an iPhone 15 Max was missing from the shop. When he checked the CCTV footage, he saw UP Constables quietly take the iPhone 15 Max and slip it into his pocket while leaving behind his old iPhone 13 Pro as a decoy. The stolen phone was worth ₹1.62 lakh, Shivam stated.

After discovering the theft, Shivam reviewed the CCTV footage from his showroom. He shared the video with about 200 people in a WhatsApp group, which helped identify the individuals in the footage as police constables. He then informed the police and submitted a written complaint.
