After a police officer in Uttar Pradesh made headlines for saying that Muslims should stay indoors on Holi if they believe colors affect their religion, another officer’s comment is now attracting attention. He said that those who support Iran should go there and fight.
Uttar Pradesh Officer warn Muslims for doing Road Prayers on Eid
“Those who upset about the Iran and Israel conflict buy a plane ticket and go there to fight. However, if anyone disrupts the law and order in our country, the police will deal with them severely,” said Sambhal circle officer Kuldeep Kumar during a peace committee meeting with Muslim leaders ahead of the upcoming Eid festival and special Friday prayers.
Strict action taken against who raise slogans during prayers
Kumar warned that strict action taken against anyone who raises slogans during prayers in support of or against any country. He also said that wearing black badges to protest seen as breaking the law. Furthermore, he mentioned that prayers allowed inside mosques, not on the streets. “We will arrest anyone found praying on the road and send them to jail,” he added.
A video of the officer making these comments has gone viral on social media. In a similar meeting before Holi last year, the then circle officer Anuj Kumar told Muslims to stay indoors if they felt colors would affect their faith.
