Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urged citizens to stay alert and verify identities before hiring anyone. He said UP Govt has started serious action against illegal immigrants to protect security and social balance.
His appeal comes as a crackdown on infiltrators continues across the state, following his instructions to officials last week.
Yogi Adityanath strict action against Rohingyas
In a post on X, Adityanath said, “The honourable Supreme Court has made an extremely important remark during a hearing that a red carpet cannot be laid out for infiltrators. This makes it clear that infiltrators are not acceptable at any cost.”
He emphasized that resources belong to citizens, not illegal immigrants. He stressed that maintaining security, social stability, and a strong law and order system is government’s top priority.
Questioning the Legal status of Rohingyas
On December 2, the Supreme Court questioned the legal status of Rohingyas living in India. It asked whether “intruders” should receive a “red carpet welcome” while many citizens face poverty. A bench led by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi made these comments while hearing a habeas corpus petition from a rights activist regarding Rohingyas who allegedly disappeared from custody in Delhi.
Yogi Adityanath urged people to stay watchful and ensure proper identity verification before hiring anyone. “The security of the state is our collective responsibility because security is the foundation of prosperity,” he said.
The chief minister announced that a strict campaign has begun against Rohingya and Bangladeshi nationals living illegally in the state. He directed all urban local bodies to identify suspected foreign nationals and prepare lists. Adityanath pointed out that benefits meant for the needy under welfare programs cannot be allowed to be misused.
