In this ongoing discussion, a Reddit post titled “Enough of these people ‘developing’ Bengaluru – Introduce Interstate Residency Permits for working & running businesses in Karnataka” has sparked a lot of conversation on social media.
The post included a viral video showing a group of people, reportedly from northern India, yelling and using abusive language in Koramangala, a neighborhood in Bengaluru. The user shared the clip to express frustration with their behavior, raising the issue of uncontrolled migration.

He suggested implementing interstate residency permits for those living and working in Karnataka. This quickly turned into a hot topic online. Within hours, the post received many comments, with several users describing North Indians as “confrontational and angry.”
One user wrote, “Why are so many people from the north confrontational, angry, and entitled? There must be something in society causing this. I know I’m generalizing, but I’ve often seen very rude behavior in public. Not everyone is like this, but percentage-wise, it’s a lot.”
Educated individuals use Vulgar and abusive languages
Another said, “It’s shocking how even educated North Indians casually use vulgar language like MC, BC, and other insults. These loudmouths have completely disrupted the peace here. They tend to be aggressive. It’s sad to see once peaceful areas like Koramangala damaged by them.” Someone else mentioned, “All the bad apples from the north are coming down and ruining things in the south.”
