26/11 Worst Terror Attacks in Mumbai: Tahawwur Rana Expose Links with Pakistan and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)

Tahawwur Rana did not personally hear a bullet all through the worst Mumbai 26/11 attacks but ensured his college friend David Coleman Headley organized the blueprint. Rana had proclaimed, “Indians deserved it,” and the 26/11 attackers “need to acquire Pakistan’s most army honor, the Nishan-e-Haider.”

17 years after India’s biggest terror attack, he is now speaking inner a National Investigation Agency (NIA) lock-up in the center of Delhi. It has taken time, but for the first time, India has custody of a key plotter of the 26/11 attacks and plans to reveal the Pakistani state’s role in the conspiracy. This is the first extradition linked to the 26/11 attacks. Earlier, India prosecuted and hanged 26/11 gunman Ajmal Kasab and secured the deportation of plotter Abu Jundal from Saudi Arabia.

Tahawwur Rana Linked expose with Pakistan

Rana’s extradition was not a smooth venture. A dogged legal conflict and India’s family members with America caused its success. He fought extradition for 5 years after the NIA, under the Narendra Modi government, formally moved a plea in 2020. Now 64, he was born in Pakistan and became an Army medical doctor. Later, he became an immigration consultant in Chicago. From 2005, he was supporting his high school pal from Pakistan, Headley, an undercover agent for LeT in Mumbai. Headley scouted goals, and he provided a cover.

Terror Attack Mastermind owns immigration company in Mumbai

In 2006, Tahawwur Rana opened a department of his immigration company in Mumbai to help Headley get a multi-access visa to tour India as a manager of this firm. Headley made eight visits to India — certainly one of them even after the 26/11 attacks — but was not caught. How did Headley know where to appear? Because his company gave him an business front to transport freely. He funded, facilitated, and helped cover Headley’s tracks while he surveilled goals, including the Taj Hotel, CSMT, and Nariman House. Headley went to Chicago to short him on his reconnaissance missions – so he had an understanding of what was coming.
