The Allahabad High Court remarked that a women herself had invited trouble and was responsible for the alleged rape against her. Justice Sanjay Kumar Singh made this comment while as granting bail to an accused who was arrested in December 2024 for alleged rape of a girl he had met at a bar in Hauz Khas, Delhi.
The case dates back to September 2024 when the women, a student of a famous Noida- based university, had long gone to a bar in Delhi together with her 3 women friends. There, she is stated to have met a few male freinds, certainly one of whom was the accused.
Allahabad High Court State Victim responsible for Rape
The victim in her criticism to the Noida Police stated she was intoxicated after consuming alcohol and the accused was getting towards her. They stayed on the bar until 3 AM and the accused stop asking her to come along with her, she said to the police.
She delivered that due to his insistence, she agreed to go together with him to his house “to rest”. She in addition alleged that he kept touching her inappropriately at the way and as opposed to taking him to his region in Noida, he took her to a relative’s flat in Gurgaon, where he raped her.
Accused Release on Bail
The victim then approached to the police, filled FIR at a Noida police station. The accused was arrested on December 11, 2024. In his bail plea, the accused instructed the Allahabad High Court that because the girl want support, she herself had agreed to go to his area and relax. He denied the allegation that he had taken her to his relative’s flat and raped her twice. He also claimed that it was not a case of rape, but of sexual activity.
