Director Sanoj Mishra earlier grabbed headlines for offering a film to Maha Kumbh sensation Monalisa. In the latest update, he has been arrested in Delhi on rape charges, as per reports. A young woman from a small city has accused him of, time and again exploiting her, allegedly luring her with fake promises of making her a big movie name.
According to reviews, the victim informed the police that she first related with Sanoj Mishra in 2020 through TikTok and Instagram, even living in Jhansi. Over time, they spoke regularly, and on June 17, 2021, Mishra allegedly referred to as her, claiming he was at Jhansi railway station. When she refused to meet him, he reportedly threatened to take his destroy life if she didn’t come.

Fearing his threats, the victim agreed to meet him the day after today. On June 18, 2021, Mishra allegedly took her to a hotel, where he gave her intoxicants and assaulted her. As per her complaint, he also recorded obscene videos and threatened to leak them if she resisted.
The victim similarly claimed that Mishra endured to take advantage of her in multiple activity, making false promises of marriage and providing her roles in movies to control her.

For people that overlooked the buzz, Sanoj Mishra today made headlines for providing a movie to Monalisa, the young girl who went viral during the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. Selling bread at the event, Monalisa was a single-day internet sensation after her photos and films captured hearts throughout social media.
Soon after Monalisa’s viral moment, reports emerged that she had landed a film provide. A few days later, Sanoj Mishra showed that he was casting her in his upcoming project, The Diary of Manipur. He had also started out giving her acting instructions. Sanoj was seen taking her on numerous occasions.
