A 28-year-old contractual medical expert of Gujarat, Sahdevhsinh Gohil arrested on Saturday for allegedly sharing classified information related to the Border Security Force (BSF) and Indian Navy with a Pakistani girl agent through WhatsApp.
According to Gujarat’s anti-terrorism squad (ATS), sub-inspector R.R. Garchar get intelligence report on April 29, a week after the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam that killed 25 tourists and one nearby pony guide. It said that Gohil, a resident of Narayan Sarovar in Lakhpat taluka of Kutch and a contractual employee at the primary health center (PHC) in the Mata No Madh place in Kutch district, leaking important defense-related information to a foreign agent.
Gujarat man Shares BSF Pictures and Videos to Pakistani agent
Gohil allegedly shared pictures and videos of BSF and Indian Navy facilities near his location with the Pakistani agent. “Gujarat ATS has arrested Sahdevsinh Gohil, a medical expert from Kutch. We had information that he have been sharing information regarding BSF and Navy with a Pakistani agent,” Gujarat ATS SP K Siddharth said.
During the research, Gohil admitted to having been in contact given that July 2023 by WhatsApp with a Pakistani women agent who used the name Aditi Bharadwaj, the SP said, adding, “Gohil said that, on women agent’s behest, he were providing pictures and videos of BSF posts, Indian Navy offices, and ongoing construction activities close to India-Pakistan coastal border in Gujarat.”
Investigation Starts against Man
Investigations revealed that during January, Gujarat man procured a new SIM card under different name and handed over the WhatsApp OTP to the agent, allowing her to use a WhatsApp account connected to his number. He persisted to transmit pictures and videos of constrained defence places to her by this number, an official said.
