Congress MP Rahul Gandhi granted bail by the MP/MLA Special Court in Lucknow. He grant bail regarding accusations that he made a defamatory remarks against military.
Mr. Gandhi, who surrendered in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Alok Verma, granted bail. The Congress MP, who is the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, directed to grant personal bail bonds of ₹20,000 each and provide sureties of the same quantity, after final absent over the past 5 hearings in the case.

His laywer Pranshu Agrawal pleaded his innocence in the case, arguing that no offence made against him. The complainant’s alleged that the Congress leader affects the honor and admire of the Indian Army and need to not granted bail. The next hearing will be on August 13.

Mr. Gandhi had reached Lucknow earlier in the morning, and appear in courtroom amid tight security. All formalities related to the bonds and sureties has done in chambers.
Senior Congress leaders followed Mr. Rahul Gandhi to court, together with Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Pramod Tiwari. “We have complete faith and appreciate for the judiciary and the court process. Our leader gets justice. The environment across the court premises was jubilant. I will not comment on court complaints,” Mr. Tiwari said.
