A civil court in Pune has summoned to Jolly LLB 3 makersafter complaint made by a local advocate to halt the release of the upcoming film Jolly LLB 3. Civil Judge (Senior Division) JG Pawar issued the summons based on a request from Advocate Wajed Rahim Khan. The hearing set for October 28.
The request filed under the Specific Relief Act, seeking an order to stop the film’s release. The plea claims that the film disrespects the legal profession by showing an advocate wearing an advocate’s band tie in its recently released promotional teaser.
Is Jolly LLB 3 really insult lawyers profession?
The teaser uploaded on YouTube on August 12, and the film is set to release on September 19. According to the plea, the film’s teaser shared by media and has harmed the reputation of lawyers and the Judiciary.
Khan argues that the film misuses judges’ and lawyers’ attire and depicts it inappropriately. He notes that the earlier two films in the franchise faced similar issues. His plea further states that the recent portrayal in the teaser aims to insult and damage the dignity of lawyers, and such representation disrupt societal peace.
Complaint against movie makers
He also claims that Jolly LLB 3 filmmakers and artists do this for financial profit. The plea states that the film is controversial. He asked the court to stop film’s release in Maharashtra and to issue suitable orders about its distribution in newspapers and online.
